Our good friend Ryan has been there for us through many good, fun, and difficult times. He's always been ready with a helping hand, whether it was introducing us to the wild world of Amazon, teaching us something new, or just being a great friend when we needed it. It's hard to think of someone who is more willing to jump in and be there to do the right thing.

It’s our turn to help Ryan and his family however we can. As some of you may already know, Ryan had to have surgery to remove an infection that was next to his spine. Unfortunately the surgery ended with complications and Ryan came out of surgery paralyzed from the chest down. He will be in a rehab hospital for several months. The Leslie family home will need to be remodeled to accommodate a wheelchair and they will also need to purchase a different vehicle. It’s unknown what insurance will cover and what type of long term care will be needed.

Any donation will go directly to Ryan and his family to help cover medical and home care expenses.

Ryan and I are writing this update together today. We wanted to express our deep gratitude to all of you. The extend of your generosity has been overwhelming. Now that Ryan is at the rehab hospital, we have a much better picture of how much our expenses will be. Unfortunately insurance doesn’t help with home remodel at all. We are fortunate in that our home already has extra wide hallways and lots of open space. We have learned that we will need to redo our bathroom, replace all carpet and install a wheelchair elevator and a ramp. As a result, we have decided to raise our goal in the hopes of helping us cover our costs. We are not asking for you to give again, but rather to share this campaign with people in your networks. Thanks again for all your love and support,
Amy, Ryan, Liam and Casey

We were very excited yesterday as Ryan was able to tolerate sitting up in a recliner chair! We also found out the other day that he will not need any further surgery on his right foot. We are hopeful that he will soon be strong enough to get transferred to the rehab hospital. Thank you all for all your love and support.

Absolutely incredible to see over $50k raised in a week!

Ryan has been accepted to the rehab program they have been hoping for at UW. Before he can go he needs to be able to tolerate sitting up, so they will be reassessing on Monday to see if he is ready to be transferred.

Amy has setup a caringbridge site where she will be posting updates on Ryan, you can setup an account (it’s easy) and follow along for email updates on his progress here - https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/ryanleslie

Ryan and his family have a long road ahead, but they’re very strong people. The kind words and generosity all of you have shown is a great reminder that we’re all here for them. Thank you all so much!
