Help Chris Pee

Donation protected
This is Chris, he is almost 2 years old and loves giving kisses and ripping apart furniture.
On Labor Day, Chris became very sick very fast and we took him in. This one trip to the Vet taught us two things — cats can get kidney stones and vets are expensive! Chris was diagnosed with a urinary blockage that cost us $900 that first night alone.  Cat kidney stones — technically called crystals — occur in particularly sensitive kitties and make it impossible for them to pee, which leads to kidney failure. If you or anyone you know has had kidney stones, just ask them how much they hurt! After that first night, there were constant medications, catheters, and blood tests for the kitty. Each thing seemed like it would be the thing that saved him. At one point we even had to restart the process when he still couldn’t pee. (I have never wished for urine more in my life). Each morning we picked him up from the ER and transferred him, urine bag and all, to an amazing vet that worked with us to keep costs of treatment low. He was the talk of both vet offices and everyone couldn’t stop raving about how healthy he was despite the blockage which SHOULD have caused kidney failure by now but miraculously hadn’t.
We have depleted our “rainy day fund”, “emergency fund”, and truthfully our savings in an effort to keep our best friend alive. It seems silly to spend over $3,000 on a pet, but here we are. Asking for help isn’t easy and we appreciate anything you can give, including just sending positive thoughts our way.
