Festive Family Day for Asylum Seeking Children in Cork 9th December in The Rock Community Centre, Cork; and 16th December in Clonakilty and Millstreet.
As the festive time of year approaches, we invite you to contribute to gifts for children living in Direct Provision which will be distributed at our family events on the 9th and 16th of December. Parents and guardians living in Direct Provision have no resources; they receive just €21.60 per adult or child per week, to cover things like buses, schoolbooks etc.
As such, your gift will help to make the holiday period a little brighter.
This year, we are organising a few different options. People can make donation here by clicking the button on this page. Your donations will be used to purchase gifts on your behalf.
People living in Cork can also purchase a gift for a child – we are asking parents in Direct Provision to help children to write a letter, listing two or three things that they would like to receive, and we will provide the child’s name and preference to any person who would like to buy, wrap and contribute the present this way. The suggested value of the gift is around €15-20. We will have drop-off locations for people towards the end of the month.

We understand that people may be experiencing their own troubles during these difficult economic times and we completely understand if people are not in a position to donate.
