Help Chase Tasca Battle for Life
Thank you to all of you that have donated to my nephew Chase's Go Fund Me account. Your generosity helped Chase to focus on his recovery and not his mounting medical bills and because of you, he is now home with Lisa and his beloved pups. The 21K already raised helped with their bills and moving expenses for the last year and is now depleted.
Chase is paralyzed from the chest down and has full use of his left arm and partial use of his right arm. Because of the weakness in the right arm, it is very difficult to transfer from the wheel chair to the car, couch and bed. Regaining that use would dramatically improve his quality of life and that is why I am writing to once again ask for your help. Chase is determined to do what ever he can to be able to regain his independence and is a candidate for a stem cell treatment to hopefully recover some of his motion. The treatment consists of three localized injections of 30-40 million stem cells around the spinal cord injury with each injection. The stem cells are cultivated from Chase's stomach fat. This treatment is being performed at GIOSTAR in Mexico and they have worked on American atheletes with the head physicain having even worked on Super Man's Christopher Reeves. We are hopeful that this treatment will help Chase recover the use of his right arm and improve his quality of life. These three treatments will cost him approx. 23K and his insurance does not cover any of this. I know that some of you were waiting to donate until you knew of a specific need and so I am reaching out to you all again to ask you to please help. Any donation no matter how small will help. Please give Chase the gift of hope. Thanks so much!
Thank you everyone for the kind words and donations, they truly mean a lot to Chase and I. We are so lucky to have such amazing friends and family in our lives. The support of everyone during this time has been incredible and means the world to us. Thank you!!
I think it would be an excellent idea for you to also call/consult Dr. Neil Riordan who is practicing out of Panama. He is using mesenchymal stem cell therapy, which as far as I know, he is the only practice in the world that is currently using this technology. They are stem cells that are grown from the cells found in bone marrow, and have none of the additional risk factors associated with stem cells that are taken from placental tissue or other tissue cell cultures (i.e. the stomach lining). I'm no expert on the medicine behind this, but if you are considering treatment I feel this is something that is most certainly worth exploring. Neil Riordan is the de facto leader in stem cell treatments in the world, and I think that Chase might be a good candidate for their program. Here he is talking about his practice with Mel Gibson on Joe Rogan Experience: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OtL1fEEtLaA
