Help Buddy kick Cancers Ass

Donation protected
Roger “Buddy” Smith or The Crab Man, is the name most know him by.
Buddy is in desperate need of financial help to fight a rare, aggressive cancer-that if given another month, WILL invade his eye, as well as his brain.

He was diagnosed with Stage 4 A maxillary Squamous cell carcinomas July 19, 2018.
In a short 3 months, the tumor reached the size of a TANGERINE!! It’s located in his left sinus cavity pushing upward to his eye.
Hopefully this tuesday, (07/24/18) he will go in for a 10-12 hour surgery which will consist of removing left upper gum, cheek bone, upper palette & the bottom section of his left eye socket—with reconstruction immediately after.
Radiation will be used after healing & possibly chemo.
This can only happen if Buddy can pay (prior to surgery) 50% of the cost of surgery.  Which is estimated to be between $15,000-$25,000.

Being uninsured, this will cost an overwhelming amount not to mention the added mental stress it is causing Buddy & his family.
Along with the cost of Buddy's mortgage/utilities, his kids were forced to rent a place nearby for him to stay during the entirety of Buddy's treatment (doctors would not let him go back to his home due to mold problems).
The cost of the 2 households is roughly estimated to add an additional $5000 a month to their already growing monthly bills.
Although Buddy has a lot of family rallying together to help in any way possible, they will have added issues limiting the ability to help with finances.
2 of Buddy's kids will be going through surgeries of their own in a month.
Leaving the burden of finances on one person to pay the bills during that hopefully short time.

Why are we asking for so much? Let me explain what they are facing:
Surgery is estimated upwards of $50,000-(the hospital requires 50% prior to surgery.) A week in the hospital is estimated at $10,000 (or more).
Two separate specialists for after care, as well as the cost of Radiation. According to research for un-insured/self pay patients, radiation can range anywhere from $10,000-$50,000 or MORE!

Buddy’s youngest daughter lives in Japan with her husband (marine corps). Fearing the worst, she needs to fly home to help care for Buddy while the other siblings work multiple jobs (before the 2 have their surgeries!) Unable to get assistance from the Marine Corps to help pay for her flight, they have another expense of $3000 they need to come up with-IMMEDIATELY!
They also have to purchase furniture for the rental house, due to mold, they are unable to use any furniture from Buddy’s.

All of that & it doesn't include incidentals-medications, unexpected expenses (in the case he needs a second surgery), food, gas back & fourth to appointmens & other daily expenses!

Did I mention this was started a mere 6 days ago with the actual diagnosis only being 4 days ago.
6 days & they have already depleted most of the moderate savings Buddy & his children had.

They're working on disability--but we all know that can take months or longer!!  Leaving them paying out of pocket for everything.

Despite Buddy having a strong family unit, it takes more at times like this.
This cost is not only on Buddy, but his children have taken upon themselve as well.

Buddy & his family are grateful for any contributions. Whether it's a monetary donation or sharing their story with others, prayers are also accepted! Every little bit helps.

We truly appreciate you taking the time to read and share Buddy's story.
