Help B-Side Records In Time Of Need
$25,000 of $6,000 goal
Many a regular customer has asked about his absence over the past week. On Monday Nov. 28th, Steve was biking to work in the rain when his front tire slipped and wedged into the space between railroad tracks, causing him to fall and break his hip in two places and fracture his right elbow. He needed surgery and will be out of work for this winter.
A few former employees and friends of the business have taken time out of their busy lives to learn or re-learn how to run the store, but this cannot be kept up financially for the duration of his long recovery time. Since we're currently leading up to Christmas, we'll be needing two (less experienced) people on the clock almost every day, and with the estimated recovery time of 3 months before he is fit enough to work alone, we will be needing around $2000/month to be able to pay those keeping the shop open and recover from lost sales due to shortened hours.
There is a possibility that if we can't make it through the season, B-Side may no longer be able to keep its doors open. This has been a shock and a devastation to him and the family, so absolutely anything you can give is greatly appreciated.
Thanks for reading about and considering donating to one of the last remaining local record stores!

It would be lovely to thank you all face to face, but for now I hope you are okay with this virtual yet heartfelt Thank You. Your generous contribution has not only rescued me and my family from potentially losing B-Side, but has helped pay down its debt and secured firm footing for what we hope is the long-term health of our little old record shop here in Madison. How nice is that? Very very nice.
Thank you again! I'm actually looking forward to the doctor telling me I can return to work, and then ... who knows ... seeing you at the shop? I like my job.
All good wishes from Steve, Anita, Shaun, Brendan & Alivia. Keep listening to good music, and be kind to each other!
A quick note from the post-op bed — Your response to this campaign to keep B-Side Records open during my recovery is overwhelming. The generosity demonstrated with your kind words and hard-earned dollars is humbling. Friends and customers near and far; all the media outlets, even people we've never met...everyone who donated and shared about our crisis, we could never thank you enough for your kindness and support. The music community in Madison has always impressed us, now there is an abundance of evidence: You all rock!
I look forward to a full recovery and being back at B-Side. In the meantime I trust the temporary staff to take care of most of your needs. I still see facebook messages and email email@example.com — Thanks again everyone!

Dude... it's love. Plain and simple.. I always loved B-Side :-) It is all of our pleasure! I am so pumped for you, your family and the future of your small but MIGHTY record store!
How many wonderful friends and customers to have a great response in such a short period of time. Where is the store located?
Awesome article written by The Badger Herald about this fundraiser! https://badgerherald.com/artsetc/2016/12/06/b-side-records-triples-fundraising-goal-in-24-hours/
It would be a privilege to volunteer at the store. From the moment I first arrived in Madison (late in the last century) to the present, B-Sides has been one of the corner stones to my cultural life. Please do not hesitate to call on those of us who have offered to help!

Would love to donate time along with my daughter who seems to have a knack for retail and we both love music of course!
I have 5+ years experience working in record stores (with many more years experience in retail). I have every other Tuesday off and would be glad to donate hours for daytime shifts in January and February to help out B Side.
Steve, We'll written. I'm retired with time, and live music. I grew up in a family of retailers. I'd be glad to help if you still need it. Cathy Dethmer sent me the site. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Ken Axe
I am happy to help with a shift or two
I've got more time than money and will happily donate time too if that's an option.
I plan on stopping in and picking up a few gifts (or personal gifts) in the near future. Hope you all do the same as well! :)
