My name is Laura Jeffries. I currently volunteer with Blue Lick as the board secretary/sponsor coordinator and coach as needed, both of my children play here. My husband coaches here and serves on the board as well. Our family spends a lot of our time at this facility.  Blue Lick is our home away from home.

Blue Lick has served our area of Northern Bullitt county and Southern Jefferson county for over 40 years. We're completely run by a volunteer board and coaches. Our goal to teach the game of baseball and sportsmanship.

Our organization depends on donor support, fundraising, and enrollment fees to operate.

Unfortunately, we've experienced vandalism and theft at our park.

We've had a pitching machine, an entire set of metal bleachers stolen, and most recently, our 4 wheeler.  All of these items have been stolen with the past year.

The most recent event has left us without our 4 wheeler which we completely depend on for field maintenance. Our concession stand was vandalized and our volunteers have to make repairs. The thieves were also kind enough to open our freezers and refrigerators to let all of our food spoil.  They also destroyed our equipment cage door, stole baseballs and literally stole candy from kids.

We're asking for help with costs associated with repairs to the concession stand and replacing the 4 wheeler. We're hoping maybe we can replace the bleachers that managed to wander off too.

Orginal story from Facebook:

Very sad to report that our park was broken in to in last couple nights. Not exactly sure when, but some time since Tuesday night, July 2nd, 2019. Our four wheeler that we use to maintain all of our fields was stolen, along with a few dozen baseballs, some food from concession, and other items. If anybody has any info, let us or LMPD know. Thanks for any help!

We have some good news to report. Thanks to a good samaritan who saw our 4 wheeler at Kroger on Mud Ln and called the police, they were able to track them down and find some of our stolen belongings. Our 4 wheeler and a small amount of baseball equipment were found.

With this being said, our 4 wheeler is virtually destroyed. They wrecked it (at least once we know), hot wired it, brakes are gone, ignition switch is destroyed, and tires worn bald, all just at first glance. Most of the equipment of value, including just about all the baseballs, were not found. Neither was our security system.

We are still in need of repairs to the damage they did to our building and replacing/upgrading our security system. We also still need to replace the bleachers that were stolen from us earlier this year.

We are extremely grateful for the community's support during this time and we hope you see the needs that we still have. However, if you have made a donation to us via GoFundMe and would like to inquire about receiving it back, please contact the GoFundMe support team and they should be able to assist you.

We want to be as transparent as possible and make sure we are not deceiving anyone. We know at times our community struggles and we want to ensure we are taking care of those who may have reached deep into their means to help us.

We want to give a huge thank you to LMPD officers and detectives for their hard work and time helping our park. They are still investigating at this time and getting more info.

Again, we are grateful for our community and their out pouring of support. -Laura
