Help August Get A Service Dog!

Donation protected
Hi! My name is August! Recently my first service dog prospect washed (was unable to continue his training because his prey drive was too high, which isn't the only reason SDs wash, but it was the reason mine did), and I am in the process of getting a new dog to start training before the school year. You may notice that the school year is coming up fast, and to start training before then, I would have to raise money quite quickly. This is true. I would like to raise this money (ideally within the next 2-3 weeks), as the need for a service dog to help mitigate my disability is quite dire, though it may not seem like it from the outside. The dog I am in the process of adopting is $495.00, an initial vet visit is about $120.00, and I would like to have an emergency fund of $200.00. I already have some money saved up, and I do have a steady source of income, but this situation with this particular dog is time-sensitive. He is going to grow to be more than 50% of my weight, so he will be able to do mobility work to help with my chronic joint and muscle pain, his temperament is friendly but not so outgoing that he isn't able to focus, and is eager to please his owner, as well as friendly with dogs, cats, small children, etc. (There's more, but I'll spare you all of the details).

My condition has recently gotten worse as I was diagnosed with Gastroparesis (slow emptying of the stomach) along with my fibromyalgia, SI joint instability (hypermobility), tachycardia, migraines, IBS-D (which my PCP is saying may present itself later as, in fact being IBD since I'm only 20 and my symptoms have been so severe), severe dysmenorrhea, depression, and anxiety. When my GP (Gastroparesis) is flaring up, it consists of constant, severe nausea, lots of vomiting, weakness, and fatigue. A service dog could help mitigate symptoms by getting me things when getting up would drain my energy (such as a bottle of water, or a blanket), as well as doing momentum pulling, so walking wouldn't be such a toll on my body, which would help with the weakness and my muscle and joint pain.

I mentioned this in my first GoFundMe, but a service dog would also greatly help by interrupting anxiety behaviors like scratching and picking at nails, as well as leg shaking, which can help ground me and bring me out of an anxiety attack, as well as doing deep pressure therapy when I'm dissociating to ground me.

I am also going to a geneticist soon (July) to see if my joint/muscle pain is caused by some sort of connective tissue disorder (as well as to ask about a couple other things that are going on), so I will keep you all updated on that, because you deserve to know if you're joining me on this journey.

I really appreciate anything at all that you're willing to donate! I know it's more difficult to understand things like this, and how I could have so many things going on with me all at once (chronic illnesses are often comorbid, and it isn't really uncommon at all!!), and I really appreciate you taking the time to read all of it!

Thank you again so so much for your donations and support!
