On Tuesday, June 11th 2019, we lost a partner, a son, a brother, a friend and a diving legend in a tragic dive accident. Andy Phillips was extremely respected in the dive industry with a career spanning over twenty years, he changed the face of the sport with his epic smile, determination and commitment to safety and education.
He is survived by his life partner Marie-Claude, his father and his sister, and is loved and missed by so many more. He has touched the lives of thousands and his legacy reaches far beyond the average lifetime of someone ordinary. It is now that we, his tribe, are calling on those he touched for some assistance.
Andy worked and had dealings in various countries which has created labyrinth task of trying to track down assets and liabilities which will inevitably create travel costs and more importantly legal representation costs in these various countries. Marie-Claude and Andy’s sister will be trying to navigate these costly issues. The mere fact that it is an ongoing investigation means that Andy is still considered a missing person and only exacerbates the burden on MC and the family.
Many have asked if there is any way they can help so we are asking for your help - Andy’s friends, network and dive community to pitch in any amount so we can soften this burden.
If each person whose life he touched could contribute in his honor, it would truly show the extent of his worldwide impact and keep the flame going in his name.
