Help a Veteran, Justice for Jimmy Waller

Donation protected
This go fund me page is in support of a United States Veteran, my best friend & fiancé Jimmy Waller, whose life has been continuously and unjustly ruined by individuals not being held to account by a justice system that continues to look the other way.  Multiple lawyers and firms have said Jimmy's case is the “biggest injustice they have ever seen” that this situation is “more unconscionable and incomprehensible than anything they’ve ever seen or heard of” and “his case was the most talked about case in our office."  Jimmy is a kind, generous man, who is loved, admired and well respected not only in his personal life but also in his professional life where he is considered an expert in his field.  Jimmy has dedicated his life to the service of his country and proudly served in the United States Air Force for twenty years to include Operations Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom.  Jimmy retired in 2006 and has continued his service to his country, working as a Government Security Contractor for the Air Force.  A majority of his time is spent in hazardous areas of the globe, particularly in various parts of Africa and the Middle East.  Despite the conditions and the risks in these areas, Jimmy loves serving his country and loves the work that he is doing since it truly makes a difference for the safety and security of our men and women working at these hazardous locations.  In Jimmy’s personal life, he is incredibly kind, loving, generous, humble and devoted to his family.  Jimmy is the first to help someone in need, whether it be a family member, a friend or a total stranger.  Jimmy has also devoted himself to Veterans’ causes, such as organizing a food drive and donating his time and vehicle to help other Veterans transition into civilian housing.  He has also donated time and resources towards helping homeless people and animals.  To know him is to love him and we all truly love this remarkable man.  For those of us that know Jimmy, we also know what a private person he is.  He is never one to complain or ask for help, even when in need.  As a result, he has suffered many times in silence.  This is why I am asking for your help.  Jimmy needs your help.

Because of a horrible injustice in the NH family court system, Jimmy has been paying an unjustifiable amount of alimony to his ex-wife who was not only equally financially stable throughout the entire course of their 20 year marriage, but her salary has continued to increase over the years, even exceeding Jimmy's when his salary had decreased because of budget cuts.  Since the divorce in 2009, he has been paying approximately $66,184+ per year, leaving him to live off of as little as $30,000-$40,000 (before taxes) while her income total has been between $141,000 - $170,000.  She receives $12,000 a year from his $19,000 a year military retirement in addition to 50% of his bonuses.  She remarried in October 2015 at which time, by law, alimony would have stopped.  Unfortunately, to everyone's amazement, that was not the case.  She has continued to receive alimony because of a failure of the courts to abide by the laws and guidelines that are in place.  For reasons no one can understand, and not in accordance with NH alimony laws, the Judge ruled she did not have to prove a need for alimony, that her income was irrelevant and her remarriage and her new husband's income was also irrelevant.  Trying to fight the on-going injustice administered by the Judge has put Jimmy in a dire position financially.  When his ex-wife remarried 4 years ago, that was the start of Jimmy's battle with the courts to stop the alimony, based on her income and her remarriage.  Appearing repeatedly before the same Judge, continuously being ordered to pay all of her legal fees and interest and after losing every appeal, Jimmy is "clearly being "punished", we just don't know why.  In addition to the alimony he is ordered to pay for a total of 18 years, he has since been ordered to pay an additional $78,722 for the next 3 years in installments of $26,240 per year by April 1st of 2019, 2020 and 2021.  This would mean Jimmy has to pay a total of $77,240 per year, which would have left him to live off of as little as $300 a paycheck or $600 per month.  This is not only unfair and completely unreasonable, but it is simply impossible.  The courts have taken what was already an unfair, unjustifiable situation and have ordered him to pay even more from when the case was under appeal, officially putting Jimmy below the poverty level.  While she has 3 incomes in her household of approximately $300,000 - $350,000 annually and has continued to become extremely wealthy, Jimmy has continuously spiraled into debt and has been ordered to pay almost all of his income in alimony (so far to date, he has paid almost $500,000).  Since there has been no other case as extreme as Jimmy's, particularly with someone financially self sufficient and who continues to receive alimony after remarriage, we have been continuously told that this is the biggest injustice in the NH family court.  The events, actions and decisions of the court over the years is so incomprehensible yet here we are and this is his life and his constant, daily battle for 10 years now and with no help or end in sight.

We are desperately trying to find some sort of relief, help, resources, resolution, etc., but in the meantime, we are running out of time to come up with the money that is due April 1, 2019.  We hope to raise enough money to cover the total additional debt of $78,722 but our current crucial need is to raise $26,240 by April 1, 2019.  Because 4 years of unbelievable court details are just too lengthy to document here, please believe me when I say that this has truly been an absolute nightmare and we will never understand the unfairness, disregard and bias in the family court.  We are terrified of what will happen when the same family court Judge will determine Jimmy's fate if we do not raise this money.  A hard working, honorable Veteran who has spent his life/career serving this country will most likely face jail time which will then spiral into loss of job, clearance, etc.  Please, help us stop this horrible injustice.  I see no other option but to humbly ask for your help in this matter.  I truly appreciate anything anyone can do to help this amazing man.  Much love and gratitude to anyone who took the time to read this and many thanks to anyone who so graciously contributes.
