Help a local Nurse fight Leukemia!

Rachel Brocket-Bell has been a longtime resident and nurse in the Grants Pass area. She has cared for so many patients and helped so many families in their darkest times and helped them fight to live. Now it’s our turn to help her! She has three children that attend the local high school that she supports. One of the children they have taken in to their home to give him a place to call home. Two of the boys will be graduating from high school this June.  Rachel has been fighting Leukemia for over 4 years and was doing well in remission until about three weeks ago when she began to feel the symptoms that lead to hearing the dreadful news that the cancer had yet again returned. “Cancer Sucks”! She was immediately transferred to OHSU in Portland and will be there for about 3-4 months.

 

Update- Her Husband Don is also up at OHSU with her advocating for her needs. He is also a local nurse in the area. Since her arrival at OHSU Rachel has had a couple major problems and as a result one of her eyes was removed. The other eye at this time is not working correctly and can only see shadows of light. Rachel at the moment is without sight. The health care providers are still saying she has beat all of the odds so far and has a fighting chance to beat this terrible disease. 

 

 The money collected will assist with paying the household bills, gas money so her kids can visit her and feeding her children that had to stay behind to finish school.   Rachel is a very generous and selfless soul that would not hesitate to give someone everything she had just to see them smile!
