Help 7 year old Lia fight cancer

Donation protected
Seven year old Lia has recently been diagnosed with alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma which is an aggressive form of cancer.  Lia's Mum first noticed a lump in Lia's arm before Christmas and after many tests Lia was diagnosed and a treatment plan was put in place.  The amazing doctors at The Royal Marsden have been able to confirm following bone marrow tests amongst others that the tumour is localised and hasn't spread to anywhere else.

The plan is for Lia to have 9 rounds of chemotherapy some of which are more intensive than others followed by maintenance chemotherapy for a 6 month period afterwards.

Lia has now had several rounds of chemotherapy which have made her feel very poorly.  She is on many different medications and has unfortunately already lost most of her hair in such a short period which is obviously distressing and upsetting for her and for her close family.  She has had a tube inserted through which to administer her medication as she has become very distressed during treatment so far and is frightened of taking medicines.

Lia will also have radiotherapy at some point in the future and the aim is to remove the lump once the chemotherapy has shrunk it to a manageable size for surgery.

Lia lives at home with her Mum Sarah and her brother Daniel along with their four cats.  She is a really happy little girl and is going through so much at such a young age.  Despite everything that she is going through she still has a smile on her face. Due to the constant travelling backwards and forwards to the hospital and all the things Lia now requires the family are finding it hard to manage financially.   This page is to raise extra to help with things to make Lia more comfortable at home.  Due to having a PICC line inserted in which to give Lia her chemotherapy through Lia needs new clothes in order for them to be looser and not catch it and cause her any discomfort.  She also needs things to keep her entertained during her long stays in hospital whilst having treatment.  She is regularly spending up to 3 or 4 days in hospital depending on the dosage that she is receiving at that time and how it makes her feel.  It would be lovely for the family to be able to take Lia out on the days when she is feeling well enough and treat her to a trip to the cinema for example and make the times that she is feeling a little better more special for all of them.

In just a few short months Lia's family have dealt with so much and a bit of help financially would mean so much to them and would really help them to be able to help Lia fight this and get back to the little girl she once was and will be again when all this is in the past and she can get on with her life again growing up into an amazing and brave young woman.
