Who are you?
HelioHost is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with the mission of providing free webhosting to anyone in the world who wants to have their own website.
What are you up to?
We are buying a new server named Lily for our web hosting service. Due to high demand we're running out of space to create new accounts.
Why do you need help?
Since we provide free hosting for websites we don't have a lot of money to buy more hardware.
What are you going to do with the money?
We're going to buy this rackmount network attached storage and install it in our server cabinet.
What kind of server?
The server's name is going to be Lily, and she's going to run Windows Server 2016 operating system.
How long has HelioHost been around?
We've been providing free hosting for websites since 2005, and have no intention of ever stopping. Many free hosts have come and gone over the years due to lack of funding, but we know what we're doing.
Does anyone need you?
We have about 16,000 users right now, and more join our community every day. Demand for free hosting is very high, and we want to expand our servers to accommodate even more users.
Why don't they just use paid hosting?
Not everyone can afford paid hosting even if it's only $1 a month. Some are students learning about web development who don't have a credit card yet. Some live in countries that cannot donate for one reason or another. Some just want to have a free website prior to switching to paid hosting.
What's in it for me?
You can be the first in line for an account on our Lily server. If you have an existing account we can also provide you with a storage space increase. Plus you can feel good about helping out thousands of aspiring website designers who are incapable of making a donation of their own.
