Thanks to the generous hearts of loved ones, complete strangers, and many others, Heather's immediate family received almost $30,000 within two weeks since the day she fell victim to the senseless killings of the Las Vegas “Route 91 Harvest Festival” massacre.

Less than two months since that infamous day, her husband Albert, and their beautiful children ages 13, 9, and 4, struggle with new and unforeseen challenges brought about by the absence of Heather’s role as a loving mother and wife.

Even though there is no amount of money that can ease the pain of Heather’s loss, GoFundMe donations relieve the immediate financial pressures of a mortgage payment, car loan payment, utility bills, therapy costs, and all other common expenses that a single father with three children in Albert’s position must cope with in this new reality.

As a loving friend that has known Albert for over 26 years, I can say that above all else, he is living minute-by-minute, and trying to take care of his three treasures who depended on Heather for most of their daily needs. Not able able to go to work since losing her, Albert is doing what a devastated, single father can do who just lost his amazing wife. No one will ever be able to fill Heather’s enormous shoes to his children, but Albert is pressing on, and trying the best that he can to be a father and now even more to children. None of us can judge anything he does or does not do, as it is impossible to put oneself in his shoes and understand the emotions, fears, and challenges that he faces when he is awake, or the bittersweet dreams and hellish nightmares he experiences while asleep.
