Meet Nathan. President of his Senior Class in 2019. Graduated from high school having earned his Associate of Arts degree from Trinity Valley College simultaneously. He is a Member of the National Honor Society, band, student government, FFA officer, and elected by his class as "Most likely to become President of the United States." Nathan has been accepted to Baylor University where he will begin in Fall, 2019. He will major in Neurological Science and then plans on continuing to Medical School with the career goal of being a Neurological Surgeon.
Nathan suffered a stroke during his senior year of high school; a medical condition that is very rare in teens. The national average of a person having a stroke between ages 0-21 is only 6 in 100,000. After a couple of months of therapy and treatment, he was blessed with a full recovery! However, the chances of having a second stroke go up substantially for those who have suffered an initial stroke. 2 out of 3 will have a second stroke within the following 5 years.
Nathan knows that, should he suffer a second stroke, getting help fast is crucial to making a full recovery. Therefore, after doing some research, Nathan spent his graduation gift money purchasing a dog for training to be a medical service animal, and will have it trained to alert someone immediately should Nathan have another medical emergency.
Nathan spent all of his graduation money acquiring the dog but now needs help paying for its training and service certification. He needs to raise $3,000 to fund the training. Please help Nathan to have confidence in knowing that help will be found quickly, should he need it, as he begins college life and beyond.
