ABOUT HEARTABILITY:
Hi. My name is Shayna. I'm a young athlete and a health and wellness specialist. In January 2015, I had a cardiac arrest out of the blue. I was the last person any of my friends or family expected heart disease to affect. The moral is that it affects us all. Heart disease affects more women than all cancers combined. That was a startling fact. In telling my story, my aim is to engage and challenge a younger generation of women look at their heart differently. Changing the focus of heart health awareness to a younger generation, and educating about gender differences, allows us to put our future in our own hands. 80% of the risk associated with heart disease is preventable. Heartability is here to help.
HOW YOUR DONATION WILL HELP:
My goal with Heartability is to communicate the risk of heart disease to a younger generation of women. Your donation will help with legal filing fees related to 501(c) tax exempt status, educational materials, travel expenses (local only) for speaking engagements to high school and college campuses, as well as social media campaigns to get the word out and engage with younger women who are at risk and need help. In the future, our plan is to use donations to help facilitate free heart health clinic screenings for young women.
