Healing Underserved from Trauma

$70 of $10,000 goal

Now I See A Person Institute (NISAPI) is a nonprofit agency devoted to serving the under-served mental health and substance populations who have not succeeded in traditional therapy or institutionalization, nor have the means to seek sustainable treatment. Our qualitative five year research reflects success especially for those considered "unchangeable". Most of our clients are seen pro-bono or at extremely reduced fees.

All clients at NISAPI have individual and relational therapy. Sessions may last two to three hours and several times a week until the initial crisis has been transformed into narratives of hope, strength, and change. We take time to develop relationships with each person in the client’s community of support, to hear their need as well as the client’s, who previously has been defined as a problem. WE do all of this at horse ranch in Chatsworth, CA where the milieu is normal and nurturing, surrounded by caring staff and loving horses.

Our hope is to achieve promote expansion, sustainability and longevity, to be able to pay our staff of professional, clinical volunteers, continue and expand our training programs and research and ultimately be able to continue our hard work that has healed hundreds of families with severe familial conflict and trauma in the past decade.

YOUR donation will aid individuals, couples and families to heal and transcend symptoms but ultimately will lead to intergenerational change. No amount is too little or too much for this cause. All donations will go directly to sustainabilty to see these cases.

After decades as a professor, author, researcher, and supervisor Dr. Swim created Now I See a Person Institute--Healing Under Served Populations using Community Engagement: A Collaborative Recovery Model (CEACRM) at a horse ranch. At NISAPI clients, most with histories of extensive trauma and PTSD come to a nurturing and normal horse ranch to heal and recover. This model of therapy (CEACRM)is evidence based reflecting recovery for a broad range of mental health and substance challenges, populations and diagnoses. Our clients are surrounded by nature, normalcy, & nurturance to heal. Most work is pro-bono since our services may be several times a week and for several hours for our clients and their families. Learners from various states and countries come to learn and study under Dr. Swim and her team of therapists. Dr. Swim provides workshops on CEACRM, an International Certificate in Community Engagement: A Collaboratiave Recovery Model and in International Collaborative Therapies. Our go fund me page allows you to donate to our services to ensure the sustainability of NISAPI (scholarships, training, salaries for clinicians to service and train, as well as a much needed documentary reflecting our research.
