If you are on this website, then it is likely that you know our friend, Neil McPhie. It is also likely that you know Neil has recently been diagnosed with brain cancer, and is currently undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Chances are when Neil learns that we have developed this fundraising site in his honour he will disapprove, however, we all know that if the roles were reversed Neil would be the first to take action and donate his time and money to whoever was affected.
That's because in addition to being a loving husband and father, Neil has also been a coach, a mentor, and a friend for countless young men and women in our community; more specifically, the soccer community. Neil has been involved with soccer in the Okanagan for years as a player, a coach, and as a fan. Throughout the years it has become clear that the only thing greater than his passion for game, is his passion for the players themselves. His dedication has been instrumental to the growth and development of so many individuals, both on and off the field, and he has impacted the lives of so many families. His enthusiasm is refreshing, and his optimism is contagious. He never quits, never stops caring, and never stops believing that each and every single person who crosses his path can reach their full potential.
So now it's our turn to return the favour; to show Neil our appreciation and most importantly our support, the same way he has done for us for so many years. All proceeds raised through this site will go to Neil and his family to help cover the costs of medical bills, prescription drugs, and any other form of treatment which may not be covered by insurance.
