Niles Clark's Remaining Debt

It is with a heavy, broken heart that I must report my father passed away this morning, April 16, due to complications with his cancer. We are currently at a loss and in a whirlwind of what to do or where to start. We will update on services in the future. All funds will now go to help with burial arrangements.

What started off as an average cold only masked the true enemy within.  For a few months, my father Niles Clark, was experiencing difficulty breathing and a shortness of breath. We assumed it was just the lingering symptoms of recent illness, but our foundation was rocked after a few doctor's visits.
He had x-rays, CT scans, and even blood work to determine what was afflicting his breathing. Both the x-ray and CT scan showed an abnormal mass in his right lung. And the blood work came back with an elevated white blood cell count, but not enough to conclusively signal cancer.
But the doctor wasn't convinced and scheduled a biopsy to find out exactly what that mass really was for proper treatment. It was soon after the biopsy that my dad was admitted to the ICU.
He had dropped an alarming amount of weight in less than a month's time span--weighing only 124 pounds.  They kept him in the hospital for three days all the while preparing for future treatment by putting a port in and improving his weight.
On February 12, 2016, my father was diagnosed with Squamous cell or non-small cell lung cancer. A gameplan was made to start aggressive radiation treatments every day beginning February 17 for 4 weeks. Then chemotherapy began alongside the radiation treatments a week later.

This GoFundMe is set up to help cover any medical costs that may not be covered by health insurance and also general living expenses. Not all prescriptions are covered by health insurance.
According to National Cancer Institute , the initial cost for lung cancer is $60,000 and $7,500 continuing cost. We understand we may not reach this goal, but have set it up as realistically as possible.  But the average payout for Social Security Disability is marginally smaller than low-income families.

If you cannot donate for my father's medical expenses as he takes the fight against cancer, please share this GoFundMe page.
If you want to contribute with physical goods, we have set up an Amazon Wishlist. This will be updated depending on his needs going forward with his cancer treatment.
