Insulin pump
My son Ory was just 18 months old when he was first diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, he was in a diabetic coma an hour away from death and we was told to be prepared for the worst. He might not wake up or respond to Insulin .
He proved the docotors and everyone wrong, he fought and woke up . That was 4.5 yrs ago, he is now 6.5 and he still continues to , fight everyday for his life as well as enduring everday life issues, Illnesses, diabetic related problems and being a growing boy. In his 4.5 yrs of living with Type 1 Diabetes we have faced many overwhelming obstacles, stresses, illness and problems. He has been hospitialised 4 times in four months in just one year. He has delevoped serious Diabetic complications that threatens his life more. He can no longer feel his hypo's and takes longer to treat his lows when his blood sugars drop too low this puts him in danger of going into a diabetic coma. Also we have trouble keeping his blood sugars in range he is either way too high, with very high level of ketones another bad diabetic condition where his blood is begining to posion and this also can lead into diabetic coma, or way too low.
We constantly check his blood sugars and i check him 3-4 times in the night to keep him safe. When he gets an illness or virus we are on high alert with the hospitial for days and i get no sleep at all. illness and viruses can make make my boy miss 4-6mths out of the school year. Every day no matter how hard the fight is or how sick he is feeling, or a bad TD1 day he always manges to smile and finds the good in everything. He fights so hard to live even when his mind and little body is over exhausted. He is my hero, my strength, my inspiration, my heart and my whole life, my previous gentle boy. Although this is his journey he never walks it alone, side by side we walk his journey together every step of the way. We have now been told we need to get him on an Insulin pump as soon as possible to improve his quailty of life and help him live a long, healthy normal life as possible. We need to raise $10.000 in order to get our little man a pump. From my understanding every t1d child is on the list for a free pump the list is long and no priority is given only 3 are released australia wide. There are many pumps available at different price ranges. Ory needs the newest model to help restore quaility of life and help stop complications. There is also a goverment subsidies assistance that you signed up to help, this also has a list and no prioity order. Malcolm Turnbull promised every t1d child will recieve the latest Insulin pump if he was reelected well he got back in and no one knows when he will be bothered to release these pumps to our t1d children. My son needs his now. I'm not in this for fiancial gain, I'm simply a desperate mother trying to save her son's life but most importantly I'm a mother determined to give her son a healthy, happy, normal long life as he deserves to have.
So I'm asking everyone please can you find it in your heart to please donate and help save my son....
Thank you in advance for your generoisty.
