Our names are Celeste, Kassy, Lizzy and Sam! We are some of Mary’s closest friends that she’s made here in Texas over the past couple of years. Here’s a little piece of her story and why she’s in the beautiful Lone Star state
Mary: “I came to Laredo, Texas back in 2012 on a full ride volleyball scholarship to Laredo Community College and over the years it was getting a little difficult to go back home. I’ve spent countless holidays and birthdays away from my ‘Ohana (family) and in Hawai’i family is the most important thing to us. So being away from them, especially my mom who supports me in whatever I do for so long, it hurts. I’m not one to ask for anything, especially money, and the fact that these beautiful people all came together to do this for me, speaks wonders of them. I’ve not known them more than a year and a half, but the culture that Cheddars Scratch Kitchen creates definitely has left a mark on my heart. We preach “One Cheddars” and that’s something I’ve never really felt more until this day. This company has done so much for me, not just this, but has given me something I never thought I’d gain from “just coworkers”... and that’s an ‘Ohana away from home.”

Over the short time we’ve come to know each other, the unexplainable love for her momma and Hawai’i has definitely left a mark in our hearts as we all can definitely resonate with the love we have with our own loved ones. We are choosing to fundraise for her homecoming because Mary is the hardest worker we know - giving it her all in everything she does while spreading so much love and kindness. If there’s anyone that deserves this, it’s her. Our friend, Mary.
Mary we love you so much and you have truly made a mark in all of our hearts! We see God’s hand over your life and the impact you’ve made, not only in our restaurant but in our lives! Have fun during your trip home!
