More than a third of people killed or seriously injured on UK roads are those travelling by bike.

Bike Smart is the message at the heart of this year’s Road Safety Week , focusing on the safety of those on two wheels. Taking place between the 19th – 25th November and coordinated by Brake , Road Safety Week seeks to raise public awareness over road safety, acting as the driver for positive change on our roads.

The number of cyclists in the UK is increasing at a rapid pace, however, those on two wheels are among the most vulnerable UK road users. More than a third of people killed or seriously injured on UK roads are those travelling by bike (either bicycle or motorcycle and more than 100 bike riders are injured every day in needless, preventable crashes.

We are holding a Virtual Cycle Challenge at our Stockport office on Tuesday 20th November between 10am and 2pm and will be challenging ourselves to see how many miles we can clock up in that time.

Please help spur our riders on by making a donation.  Your help is invaluable to Brake and all monies raised go towards their life-saving work preventing road death and injury and supporting people bereaved or injured in road crashes. As well as raising funds, you will also help to spread awareness of Brake and the work they do.

How it Works
  1. You are donating to PayPal Giving Fund UK, a registered charity (No. 1110538), which will email you a receipt for your donation and claim Gift Aid where eligible.
  2. GoFundMe’s platform is free. The charity will typically receive the funds from PayPal Giving Fund within 15-45 days of your donation if the charity has enrolled (or 90 days if the charity has not yet enrolled). Unlike other platforms, 100% of any Gift Aid will go to the charity as well.
* In very limited cases, a recommended charity may cease to meet PayPal Giving Fund's legal or other eligibility requirements. In such cases, PayPal Giving Fund will reassign the funds to a similar charity, and (wherever possible) seek a new recommendation from donors.
