For those that know me and my family, we rarely ask for help, unfortunately this is a time we are all in need of help for my brother Harold “Gene” Loveless in order to carry out his wishes.
Gene has been courageously battling kidney disease since he was diagnosed at the age of 18, he is now 51. He has fought through numerous surgeries including two kidney transplants, multiple open-heart surgeries, and many other procedures over the course of his life, simply too many to list. He has literally been brought back to life on several accounts during his battle. For the past several years, he has had to go through dialysis treatments three days a week, and as he has weakened, his quality of life has deteriorated to the point he was home bound, not even able to do basic things we all take for granted such as grocery shopping, traveling to see friends and family, etc.
Last week Gene found himself in the hospital once again, when several new issues came to light, and the chances of him being able to be put back on the kidney transplant list were not possible due to his overall health condition. The surgeries he would have had to gone through to even try to get back on the list, he would not have survived through.
After fighting for so long to stay alive for his friends, family, children, and grandchildren, Gene decided he could not continue fighting and suffering any longer, and made the very difficult decision to go into hospice care on Sunday, July 8th. We do not know how much longer he has on this earth, but he has discussed his wishes with his children and family on which services he wants carried out. As you all know, funeral services in general are not cheap, he also realizes this and is not asking for anything extravagant, but still with the minimum costs we need some help to try and carry out his end of life wishes.
Due to the fact he has been unable to work for several years now, his medical bills, and trying to still provide for his family, Gene does not have much savings at all to help cover any of the costs, and did not have any life insurance, etc to help with the costs either. We all greatly appreciate any help you can provide, even if $5 or $10, anything will help and small amounts will add up. Please do what you can to share this on your social media platforms and with your friends or family that may be able to help in any way. Again, from Gene, and all of his friends and family, we greatly appreciate any help.
