Harmony House of Western MA
Harmony House of Western Massachusetts is a home,
a hope, a 501(c)(3),
providing a unique approach to providing shelter with compassionate care for terminally ill individuals.
Our biggest and most immediate goal is to rebuild our home to meet the needs of those we serve.
We are currently operating out of a home that a local family has generously allowed us to use until we are able to renovate ours.
We purchased a foreclosed home that is in need of major renovations. The house is currently gutted to the studs. We need funding to continue the renovating process.
Harmony House is a social-model home that provides trained caregivers, for those who have limited or no resources, lack a capable caregiver and are facing the end of their lives alone.
We are dedicated to maintaining the honor and dignity of each resident during the final stages of life. We are a private home without government funding. Under the social model of care, there is no government funding because we do not function as a medical facility.
Medical care is provided by a separate team from one of the several licensed hospice agencies in the area which may receive payment from Medicaid or Medicare, but Harmony House does not receive reimbursement. Each resident comes to us with their hospice team; the Harmony House staff and volunteers assist the same way a family would. We are simply a Home.
How are we funded?:
Harmony House is funded by individual and corporate donations, fundraising and grants.
Why is this important?:
Someday you may need us; right now, we need you.
The vision of Harmony House is to be a viable community resource. With your help, we will.
Please donate what you can. Thank you!!
