My name is Nik Daniel. I am 42 years old and I have been a passionate vegan for most of my adult life.
The exploitation and misteatment of animals has always appalled me and I have always felt that my life's calling would involve making a difference and helping to educate others.
Another passion of mine is weight lifting and working out.
Over the past couple of decades I was told that 'Vegans can't build muscle' or 'Vegans are skinny and weak'.
Being a plant based lifter, I was definitely in the minority in the gym but I continued to pursue my passion as it was something I truly loved.
Fast forward to today and Vegan bodybuilders and athletes are becoming more and more common and the age old myth of needing meat based protein is becoming obselete.
This is where my mission comes in.
While recently online looking for shirts and tank tops to wear to the gym, I noticed there was a lack of plant based fitness apparel. Clothing that would help spread the vegan message in the gym and let other lifters and athletes know that yes, you can indeed build muscle on a plant based diet.
Sure, there were some shirts out there that were cool, but nothing that really spoke to me and matched MY personality. I wanted apparel that was bold and edgy, that almost looked like a punk or hardcore shirt from the early 80's ( another lifelong passion of mine is punk and hardcore music )
So I set about designing a logo and image and decided to make my own shirt.
I decided to name the brand 'Hardcore Raw'. Once again, I wanted a name that was edgy and was a slight nod towards my punk and hardcore roots.
The image I decided to use was of the world's greatest and strongest vegan - the gorilla.
Once the shirt was complete I realized that there must be other people out there searching for a similar product so i have decided to launch 'Hardcore Raw' as a full blown apparel line. I have plans for caps, tanks, hoodies, gym bags - the works.
So this is where you come in.
In order to launch Hardcore Raw I will need $2240 for an intial inventory order of shirts.
The good news for you is that everybody who contributes a minimum of $28 ( $32 if outside the USA ) will recieve a Hardcore Raw t-shirt once i reach my goal. The shirt you will recieve is Next Level brand, soft and charcoal in color. ( pictured ). Make sure that you specify your gender and shirt size when making a donation.
The good news for the animals is that I will be donating 15% of profits to an animal sanctuary or rescue and I will continue to do so for every single Hardcore Raw product sold. My first sanctuary of choice is Ironwood Pig Sanctuary in Arizona. Anyone that knows me is aware that pigs share a special place in my heart and I believe they are probably the most abused and mistreated animal on the planet. Ironwood was the first pig sanctaury i followed on social media so it feels appropriate to donate to them first.
Whatever profits are left over will be reinvested into Hardcore Raw for more inventory items.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. In my heart I know we can make a difference, not only through donations to sanctuaries but through raising awareness in the gym and other athletic environments. Although a plant based diet is becoming more acceptable in the fitness world, I still believe we have a long way to go.
Hopefully Hardcore Raw will one day be seen side by side with Nike and Adidas.
