As many of you now know, Haran Kumar went missing and was found dead on Friday evening, on June 15.
He was an extraordinary individual, genuinely driven by curiosity and learning, and recently graduated from Parkway West High School. Haran told me he would be taking a gap year to work at a computer engineering internship in New York before attending Harvard. He was also taking summer classes in coding, not for credit, but for gaining knowledge. I knew him as a scholar, but many others knew him as a friend, leader, classmate, helper, family, and so on. It is devastating to hear that such a talented and bright individual has been taken from us.
Many of us would like to help the Kumar family, and hence this fundraiser has been created for us to do that. The funds will be sent to Every Child's Hope, in honor of Haran and his family's will.
