My family (my 3 and 8 year old sons, myself and boyfriend) was residing at a home in Plant City, FL 33565 which caught on fire Sunday 9/27/2015 and fire investigator already deemed it an accidental fire due to the dryer vent leading out of the home.
I am trying to attain a lawyer since the home insurance messed up on the policy and the home was discovered to be under-insured on 9/28/2015. The policy will not cover the cost to restore the home backto a livable condition.
Now my home has extensive damage from the fire, smoke, water and soot and the insurance company is attempting to rush the policy payout for us to cash the checks and not have enough to adequately bring the home back to the condition it was prior to the fire. According to the adjuster and the general contractor that came to my property the policy was not written for the type of home that I was residing in. I am reaching out because I need help to bring my home back to the condition it was prior to the fire for me and my kids to live in again. It was not our fault that the home was under-insured. Someone made a mistake somewhere and now me and my family have to suffer with no furnishing, limited clothes, limited food, and a temporary living situation in which they made the policy to only cover $1,100 in additional living expenses and $2,750 in replacement of property damage.
Part of our extended family includes 3 dogs, 4 cats (2 kittens that were caught in the house and inhaled a lot of the smoke but appear to be recovering), a turtle and a couple snakes. We have lost all our pet food and supplies for our furry friends. My fishes are currently in a 5 gallon bucket with a small air pipe but everyday they are looking worse.
It is a really difficult situation and everything that we have built together as a family was put in that home and now we have nothing.
Please help us to put our lives back together.
