I recently was approached by a friend who has for two consecutive years been able to provide an annual video to a service team in the Indian Ocean Islands of Africa. The team is focused on sharing the Good News, and they do so by enrolling the local community children into a dance studio which has an annual recital.
I am planning/hoping on being there for about 5-7 days, in order to set up, shoot the dress rehearsal, shoot the actual performance, edit it for a couple days, and then be on my merry way back to the states (all the while taking photos for them as well)! They are providing me with lodging and food, but I still need fundraising for the plane rides to and from the islands. The trip will be happening late April, so it's kind of a crazy situation, but I'm really trusting that if this is what's supposed to happen, it will.
This service would mean alot to them, as they give the video to the parents of the children performing in the annual dance recital - and the chance to give them that would mean the world to me! They don't have access to quality video production over there, and I would love the opportunity to use my talent and equipment to give them something beautiful.
The country is about 99% Musl1m, which means they take their security very seriously. Please do not forward this post or post in a public place without my permission, for their own protection. That being said please email me with any questions you have and I'll do my best to answer them!
