Gloves Up...Guns Down!
Donativo protegido
Thank you for taking the time to click on the link! Short version of why this fundraiser was created: to help raise money for the Hankinson Boxing Gym to provide shelter for the students. They currently train outdoors in the summer and winter months and your donation will help them stay committed year round while providing a safe and sheltered place to train...to become boxers and a better version of themselves.
If $5,000 is raised by Septembe 30, I'm stepping into the ring to box one of his students. No, I'm not crazy and yes, I'm in training. Please help if you can.
The long version.....
"Gloves Up, Guns Down" has been the motto and motivation for the Hankinson Boxing Gym. Established by James and Brittany Hankinson in May 2015 as a non-profit organization with 501(c)3 status, their goal is simple..."produce great amateur boxers while teaching them fundamentals to become successful adults".
I was moved and inspired by the founder's dedication to the youth of the community. They want to take the kids out of the street and this program does exactly that.
It takes special individuals to sacrifice time and money on a daily basis to ensure that kids are receiving the fundamental lessons on life. They offer a safe environment, structured tutoring, classes in nutrition, etiquette and sexual education , bible study and church services. The government can't save our kids...WE have to save our kids and it starts at the local level.
The Hankinson Boxing Gym has survived primarily on the funds from their own pockets. Travel expenses, including hotel, van rentals, fuel, food and registration fees can be costly. They need your help. They have no inside facility to train in which results in participation slacking off in the cold winter and hot summer days.
Their immediate need is to construct a shelter for their boxing ring and training equipment. It is exposed to the elements and it's taking a toll on its durability and effectiveness.
They also need assistance on travel expenses. The next competition locations are in Chapin, SC, Columbus, GA and Kissimmee, Fl.

All of us are not inspired or called to help save our youth who are not our own and that is fine but we hope that all are inspired to help those who sacrifice their resources to make the community a safer place to live, work and play.
This courageous and selfless couple needs your support. Any amount that you can spare is greatly appreciated. Thank you advance for your support and prayers.
