Help Get A Van For A Single Father
Hello my friends,
My name is Ronald Richardson, I am 40 years old, single father of my 12 year old son Ronald Jr. and I was born with a disability. When I was born, I was born with Spina Bifida, (a hole in my back and spine) the type of Spina Bifida I have is the most severe out of all 4 levels it is called Myelomeningocele which left me paralyzed in my legs I have no use in my legs at all. I have had many surgeries to try and give me comfort, but I still have pain and other issues that come along with having Spina Bifida but I try not to let it stop me from living my life and being happy but it gets very hard sometimes. I have doctor’s appointment at least once a week and when you don’t have a personal vehicle to drive and have to depend on public transportation it becomes a hassle after so long. My mother is 70 years old and I would love to go spend more time with her at her home and do many things together like going out to dinner etc. as she is getting older. I'm on a fixed income so it is very hard to save money to buy a handicap minivan because they cost alot more money than a normal minivan. Here are the kinds of handicap minivan you will be helping me get with your donations for my family and I but I do not know which one I'm going to choose yet but I will be very thankful and grateful to all of you.
I was born, raised and still reside in Toledo, Ohio where the weather changes by the hour. Some days I will have a schedule appointment to see my doctors and due to a storm or it’s snowing a lot out, I can’t depend on public transportation on those days. Being in a wheelchair is not easy either, having to get in and then try to disassemble my wheelchair it takes so much time and effort and causes even more pain. I live alone, so I do all my grocery shopping by myself with the help of my young son who gives up he’s Saturday to help me out.
My son Ronald Jr. also plays basketball, baseball and soccer and I can’t even make it to all of his games due to the fact I don’t have my own transportation to get to and from his games rather there home games or away. I feel so bad when I look Into my son eyes after missing one of his games. Before my son was born the doctors told me there would be a 50/50 chance my son would have Spina Bifida like me. So I would pray every night and he was born normal so I feel very lucky
There is a lot more I can share with you all my friends but I am sure you get the ideal of what it is to live a day let alone a life in my shoes, But I manage to get through it and not complain with a smile on my face.
I am now coming to you in need of helping me out with raising funds to get my own handicap minivan that I can drive myself and yes my friends I do have driving licenses to do things for myself and my son like normal families do. I am not trying to get a brand new minivan, just one that is safe and has all the amenities that I need to get around in my daily life the only reason I am asking for 25,000 is because go fund me will take half of it.
If you all can find it in your hearts to donate anything you can to help me reach my goal to purchase a handicap minivan or if you know of anyone that can help me please share this with them God knows in my heart I would be so grateful to each and every one of you.
