Hand UP not a Handout Please!!!
In August of 2012 I left the life I lived of 30 years in
Los Angeles to return home to take care of my Mom who was diagnosed with the beginning stages of Alzheimers and dementia.
OUR STORY: After caring for her at home for 6 months it was decided she should move into the nursing home. Once in the nursing home I visited her EVERYDAY!!!
Sometimes she'd eat the food there, sometimes I'd bring her something to eat from Arby's, Golden Corral or Sonic or sometimes I'd cook for her Enchiladas, beans and rice and her favorite Chicken Tacos and for sure I'd stay with her everyday til she fell asleep.
On December 15th 2016 at 8 a.m. she exhaled her last breath onto my face and died in my arms.
I was shattered. My Beautiful, Wonderful and Most Amazing Mother was gone. But I have to temper that with the fact that she lived to be 92 and had a Great life with a Great husband, kids, grand and great grandkids, family, neighbors and friends.
My employer had full knowledge of my Mothers condition yet I was let go from my job on August 10th 2016. Due to a clause in my contract I am not able to seek work in my field within a 100 mile radius of my hometown and due to physical conditions I'm not able to work doing manual labor.
In January my unemployment ran out and I haven't been able to find a fulltime job to support myself and now on top of all that, the Government will be assuming Mom's house and property to get paid back for her care in the nursing home that they paid for. So I'm broke and gona be homeless in my own hometown shortly.
HOW YOU CAN HELP!!! It is with great embarrassment and humility that I ask if you might be able to share a few bucks to help me with 1st and last month's rent for a new place to live, utilities, phone/internet for my job search (if you know of any Radio stations hiring experienced DJ's please let me know), FOOD, car maintenance, etc.
UPDATE:
Now on top of all that I broke my right foot during a visit to my parents at the cemetery and I'm not able to work and have to stay off of my foot for 6 weeks until July 1st 2017.
I'm asking for a hand UP not a hand Out!!!
All donations are deeply appreciated and I know my Mom would be very grateful too!!!
Sincerely,
Joe "THE BOOMER" Servantez
