HanCamp Summer Camps
“Every great achiever is inspired by a great mentor.” - Laila Gifty Akita
Every summer and winter since 2011, Hangeul Camp USA, or HanCamp in short, has consistently coordinated language camps for children abroad. So far, we’ve organized 40 week-long camps in 6 East Asian countries, but this summer, we will be hosting our camps at several new locations - in western Russia; Shanghai, China; and in the DR Congo / Rwanda.
Despite the tight travel schedule and time commitment, the one thing that’s continued to bring me back year after year to serve with HanCamp is this: the chance to mentor the students we meet and build long-term relationships with them. For the rural communities we choose to serve, we don’t just visit once and leave, but our HanCamp team promises to return four times and commit to investing in the children for several years. At the very heart of our ministry is youth discipleship - teaching and demonstrating God’s constant, powerful, and sacrificial love - just as Christ dedicated most of his world-changing ministry in making disciples and has called us to do the same.
If you feel called to partner with the HanCamp’s mentoring ministry abroad, please consider joining us! Depending on your talents and resources, there are various opportunities for you to get involved ...
- as an English / Korean teacher leading the VBS, crafts, and theater programs
- as a music / counseling camp teacher
- as a translator
- as a prayer partner, and/or
- as a financial supporter !
Thanks so much for your prayerful support and willingness to shine a ray of inspiration into these future generations of worldwide leaders!
