I can’t express the gratitude we all have for this help and for all of the money raised.

This page is being managed as a team of volunteers who are connected to the North Shore. We are contributing to relief efforts on the ground and also working to determine the right way to distribute these funds to everyone affected. It is our hope that we will be able to partner with a local non-profit to provide both short- and long-term relief, and will keep everyone updated as soon as we can. The GoFundMe team is also providing us with amazing support and guidance on how to move forward.

We've been moved by the way the community has come together to support each other. People like Laird Hamilton and Gabby Reece have been out in their boat rescuing people and  we know we are stronger together.

Your donations will help us move past this devastation, and we will remain transparent about how they are being managed. Thank you for your patience as we continue to work out logistics while also doing our part with impacted friends and neighbors. Thank you so much!

Friends of ours have lost their homes. Here is some of what we are seeing in our day-to-day right now:

Homeschool Now - a local organization dedicated to helping with immediate needs of our community and children in this disaster time - has agreed to accept the funds from our campaign. We will be working closely with a team including Koral Mccarthy, Gabby Reece and Christina Zimmerman at the organization to decide how the money will be spent, based on families filling out forms that outline what they need funds for. Each of these forms will be assessed and money dispersed based on the data there. If you are a family in need, you can pick up a form from the Old Hanalei Courthouse. An accounting of all funds will be posted publicly on the Homeschool Now website once all funds have been disbursed.

Homeschool Now is generally a nonprofit for education; however, in this time of need, they are stepping up for aid relief. They are working very closely with the assessment team and are very aware of which families need help and what supplies are still needed. They have been on the ground since day one and are prepared to assess the whole community and start helping ASAP. The immediate need is financial assistance directly to families, so that is where we will begin.

Many thanks continue to go out to our donors and everyone who is helping us in our efforts. Please dont stop! Our needs are ongoing, so donating to and sharing this campaign will continue to make a big impact.
