The Dillon S Reagan Hammer Cancer Foundation honors Dillon Reagan, who was taken from us by a rare form of cancer at 26 years old. Raised funds will help prevent, promote early detection and provide support to patients suffering from Thymic Carcinomas, a rare and incurable form of cancer.

After excelling as a high school football standout, Dillon played for the College of the Redwoods and as team captain, led them to the California Bowl in 2009. His teammates created and awarded Dillon the "Hammer Award” as in their own words he “best demonstrated a consistent work ethic and showed up each and every day to hit someone”.

Following a difficult setback caused by a protracted fight with Cushing’s Disease – which would eventually lead to his onset of Thymic Carcinoma – he was recruited to play for the Humboldt State University Lumberjacks.  Again, he served as team captain. Due to complications from his Cushing’s Disease, Dillon played with only one lung – but never missed a play.  As such, he was voted runner-up NCAA Comeback Player of the Year in 2012. Humboldt State retired Dillon’s #53 during the 2017 season and the team’s uniforms displayed his number. He will also be honored with a permanent locker in the Lumberjack’s Redwoods Bowl locker room.

In honor of his life, his strength and his no quit, no excuses work ethic, his family and friends have set up the Dillon S. Reagan Hammer Cancer Foundation to prevent, treat and support patients fighting Thymic Carcinoma.

As the 2017 high-school football season draws to a close, we are very excited to be naming the first two recipients of the Dillon S. Reagan Memorial Hammer Award. This week, both Issaquah High School and Bellevue Christian School will be naming their recipients. Both award winners will receive a $2,500 post high school scholarship and a $1,000 donation will be made in their name towards the prevention, treatment or patient support of carcinoid cancer.

The Hammer Award winners will help direct the donations made in their names.

Thank you all for your generous support, words of encouragement and the many thoughts honoring Dillon.

Update on our foundation.

For all of you who have supported the Dillon S Reagan "Hammer Cancer" Foundation., we are a 501(c)(3) registered. Our EIN is 82-2595604. Anyone looking for a separate tax receipt can request one from us.

All GoFundMe monies donated are drawn directly into the Foundation and put to work directly towards fighting, preventing or supporting patients with Thymic Carcinoma.

The foundation will pay no administrative costs or fees and no salaries out of donated funds. This includes even the transaction fees that GoFundMe charges as those will be covered by our family such that 100% of your donation will go to fight Thymic Carcinoma cancer or support patients who are fighting it themselves.

Thank you all for your support and for honoring Dillon's life in this way. Overall, we are now supporting three separate high school scholarship programs each year.

Dillon will be honored tonight at Bellevue Christian’s High School football game at Lake Washington High School (they are playing Cascade Christian).

Thank You!
