Help Ben Oakes Present A New Life and New Music
For most people, a goodbye signals an end.
For me, goodbye is just the beginning.
That idea has inspired and guided my latest project, Goodbye Forever.
Personally, spiritually and creatively, I’m saying goodbye forever to a life consumed by the pursuit of success and hello to a life consumed by faith and a desire to help others do the same through music that’s positive…music that could reach young people wherever they are, assuring them they aren’t alone…music that tells my story and, though bumpy at times, my road to faith.
I need your help! Let’s say goodbye forever together and start changing lives.
But first, here’s a little more about me.
I’ve spent the last ten years writing, singing, playing and chasing down this music dream. No opportunity was ever too small. No sacrifice was ever too much. I’ve literally moved from New York to LA and back again multiple times. Over the years, I’ve invested nearly $40,000 in my music. And it was paying off. I was garnering industry interest and developing a loyal fan-base. I’ve even had song placements on the ShowTime Network show, “The Franchise.”
Success meant everything to me…everything in my music career was all about me and I started becoming someone I didn’t want to be…someone I hardly recognized. It was when I found my faith that my music and my purpose in life began to make sense again.
My faith gave me a solid foothold on who I wanted to be and what I wanted to do with music and with life—help others experience the same redemption and transformation that has changed me forever.

Just $5500 will help me finish recording and packaging the five-song EP, Goodbye Forever and produce two music videos. My lyrics are honest, bold and unapologetic accounts of my struggle to make it and the decisions made along the way that have plagued my conscience, but ultimately led me to God.
I’m not perfect. I have scars…but I wear them with pride and testament of the power of redemption. I’m saying Goodbye Forever to a life lived in the dark and helping others do the same.
