Manvers Wind Concerns is a community based group of concerned citizens trying to stop the unnecessary industrialization of our rural Ontario countrysides resulting from the construction of thousands of Industrial Wind Turbines. We are particularly concerned by the dangerous siting of these 46 storey structures so close to homes and schools, and the health problems from audible and infra sound that have been reported across the province.
Only 30% efficient, Industrial Wind Turbines are not "Green" and it has been proven that they do not reduce fossil fuel emission levels. The wind turbine energy roll out has represented a complete waste of taxpayer dollars, and poses a real threat to long term affordable energy for everyone in Ontario, while more economical " Green " hydroelectric and other renewable technologies are ignored.
Our community has raised, through individual private donations, almost $300,000.00 dollars over the past 6 years to help cover the costs of educating the public about the proven negative realities of the industrial wind energy programs in Ontario, and thereafter to cover the legal costs of Environmental Review Tribunals.
Two of these have resulted in partially favourable decisions as we fight to preserve the environmentally sensitive Oak Ridges Moraine, but we are now financially drained and are asking for help to cover the last round of legal costs . We simply can't just walk away while the wind companies grind us down with motion after motion.
The funds are needed over the next month or so.
