MYA Roller Hockey Rink

MYA Is the roller hockey association in McDonough Georgia. Our association currently gives over 100 boys and girls a place to play a sport they truly love, hockey!! We have a recreational league fo ages 5 and up. We have the Lizard Kings (Travel organization) that fields 8 teams from 8u to 18u. Some our teams have won National Championships, and some of them have been selected to represent Team Georgia at the National State Wars Hockey Tournament. We also have a middle school team and 2 high school teams from this rink. In addition to all this, we provide camps and open practices so children of any skill level can sharpen their skills. The reason for our GOFUNDME Campaign is, our boards and flooring need to be replaced. The rink conditions are becoming unsafe, countless volunteer hours have been spent on maintenance and temporary repairs. We have caulked and taped the gaps between the panels so the players sticks would not be stuck in the boards during play. This has happened before, during a game, injuring a child. We obviously want to provide a safe facility for these children to play the sport they love. This is why we need your help. The boards and floor will cost around $135,000 to be installed. Last year we had a real hockey scoreboard donated, the kids and parents LOVE IT! We have been doing various fund raisers ourselves but the rink needs to be replaced before we would realistically be able to raise the amount needed.
