WE NEED TO PROVIDE A SAFE HAVEN FOR THE HOMELESS PEOPLE...At the moment we are currently residing in a tented encampment in Manchester City centre
The first Ark started on oxford road, Manchester! The motto is 'We had more than what was needed so we built a longer table not a higher fence'
It was created by the homeless with public support and provides a safe and caring refuge -- protecting the city's most vulnerable and unprotected from violence, danger and abuse.
It was set up on Oxford Road, underneath the Mancunian Way overpass -- on a patch of unused pavement which the city's homeless have occupied for years. It was built by the strength of a young homeless lad, from nothing -- It's also a growing community of inspiration and support.
As it struggles to provide sanctuary from the escalating crisis and desperation of homelessness, The Ark is facing continued and aggressive persecution by Manchester City Council who will not stop until it is destroyed for good..!
*****MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL AND MANCHESTER METROPOLITAN UNIVERSITY HAVE NOW SUCCESSFULLY DESTROYED THE ARK SHELTER*****
We and around 30 homeless people currently reside inside the stock exchange in manchester.
From now the 8/11/15 this fundraiser is being used to provide some off the urgent things people require that cant be got with donations. If some needs transport, clothing ect and its urgent if we have the funds it will be got for them.
