Diabetic Alert Dog for Olivia

Last year my 5 year old daughter Olivia was tragically diagnosed with a disease that she will have to live with for the rest of her life. Type 1 Diabetes is an incurable disease that causes the sugars in Olivia's body to make her sick because her pancreas no longer produces the insulin she needs. To treat her Diabetes, Olivia must check her blood sugars every few hours by sticking her finger with a lance and must get insulin injections 4 times a day. Olivia suffers from frequent low blood sugars because she is too young to understand the symptoms. Night time is especially scary for Olivia because her sugars could become dangerously low. My goal is to provide a life saving diabetic alert dog for Olivia. This dog will be able to alert us if Olivia's blood sugars become too high or too low. Olivia will feel safe and protected because she will always know that her friend will be there for her.
