Girls Rock Glasgow 4ever

Girls Rock Glasgow is a non-profit organisation which focuses on promoting positivity, confidence and community. 

We run a week-long school during the summer for girls and non-binary persons aged 8-16, consisting of music, art, social justice and self-care based workshops. In keeping with the DIY ethic of the original Riot Grrl movement which inspired Rock Schools and Camps around the world, we encourage our participants to build their own community and movement by making zines, writing songs, celebrating each other and expressing themselves via whichever medium they prefer.

We have been running since 2015, and have previously hosted summer schools in the Art School and Kinning Park Complex. We aim to be as inclusionary and intersectional as possible, and encourage participants of all backgrounds to take part.



This year we have been extraordinarily lucky to have Chvrches supporting us in ways of donating enough money to run Girls Rock Glasgow 2018, however if you’d still like to help out by donating you can do so here. Every donation is greatly appreciated, and helps towards:

 


·         Supplying additional equipment and materials throughout the week

·         Continuing the Girls Rock Glasgow ethos outwith the week by organising gigs and events within the community
