En julio del 2016 mientras estaba jugando baloncesto Greg tuvo un paro cardíaco y en la cancha. Él estuvo en coma por cerca de 5 semanas pero se despertó y comenzó el proceso de recuperación y después de unos 4 meses en el hospital, fue a su casa y empezó a venir a a mejorar. El empezó a hablar, comer, respirar, tomar duchas, caminar y bajar escaleras. En Febrero del 2017, después de un período de tiempo que su médico decidió eliminar su traqueotomía porque él estaba respirando su propia pero dentro de una semana de la eliminación de la trache, estaba teniendo dificultad para respirar, fue trasladado nuevamente al hospital donde fue informado que las cicatrices de la cura de la traqueostomía habian causado , un efecto secundario de tener una traqueotomía, por lo que los doctores decidieron ponerleun respirador para que él pudiera respirar hasta que encontraran a alguien para hiciera la cirugía correctiva; Después de 3 días de estar en el hospital empezó a tener más problemas de respiración y mientras le visitaba su hija, Zebra, aunque ella intentaba llamar a la enfermera para que le ayúdes , y nadie respondio, Greg dejo de respirar respiratory y su corazón se le paró. Pasaron unos 30 minutos y hasta que pudieron reanimarlo.
Desde entonces ha tenido la cirugía necesaria para tener una nueva traqueotomía que esperado 2 meses y está en un estado vegetativo (no se puede mover o comunicar) en casa en un ventilador sin verdadera ayuda médica excepto de Zebra, sus amigos, y sus dos hijos.
Zeb ha sido su mayor defensora durante todo este proceso . Ella a estado su lado todos los dias como su enfermera, y doctora mientras estaba trabajando a al mismo tiempo , cuidado de sus dos niños y de su casa. Con todo esto se ha puesto ella y toda la familia en una situación devastadora , pero ella se niega a abandonar a su padre para darle la mejor atención posible.
Para añadir el dueño de la casa que estan alquilando, está vendiendo la casa por lo que ella necesita encontrar un nuevo alquiler donde ella puede mover su papá y su familia pero todos los dueños nuevos requieren 3 meses de alquiler para la mudanza.
La asistencia se usarán para la mudanza , las facturas médicas o atención médica para Greg y esta familia. Si alguien es capaz de ayudar a esta familia durante este tiempo de necesidad y de apoyo, sería muy apreciada.

July 2016 while playing basketball outside, Greg had a cardiac arrest and fell on the court. He was unresponsive and was taken by ambulance to the hospital. He was in a coma for about 5 weeks but then he woke up and started the recovering process and after about 4 months in the hospital, he went home and began to come around to where he was beginning to things independently like , talking, eating, breathing, take showers, walk up and down stairs. In February 2017, After a period of time his Doctor decided to remove his tracheotomy because he was breathing on his own but within a week of the removal of the trache, he was having difficulty breathing he was taken back to the hospital where he was informed that the scars from the healing of the tracheostomy where causing his windpipe to close, which is a side effect of having a tracheostomy, so the doctors felt he might need to have a breathing machine so that he can breathe until he can find someone to perform the corrective surgery ; After about 3 days in the hospital he was still having problems breathing and while his daughter was visiting , she attempted to call the nurse for help but no was coming, he went into respiratory failure (stopped breathing) and eventually his heart stopped to where he was worked on for about 30 minutes and eventually revived.
Since then he's had the necessary surgery to have a new tracheostomy for which he waited 2 months and he is in a vegetative state (unable to be move or communicate) at home on a ventilator with no true medical assistance except of his daughter, Zebra, her friends and two children.
Zeb has been a trooper, caregiver and his greatest advocate throughout this entire process by his side every single day , nursing and doctoring him while working full time, taking care of her two boys and household. It has placed her and the entire family in a devastating financial situation but she refuses to give up on her father to give him the best care possible .To add to it her landlord is selling the house so she needs to find a new place where she can move her dad and family to but all new landlords are requiring 3 months rent for the move.
Any assistance to help support proceeds will go toward the move, medical bills/ medical care for Greg and anything this family needs. . If anyone is able to help this family during this time of need and support , it would be greatly appreciated.
