DUI Victims Support Fund

$23,977 of $30,000 goal

Raised by 260 people in 24 months

Family and Friends, it is with a heavy heart that I am reaching out to you for help. On Saturday, February 11th a drunk driver struck, my uncle Julian Lopez, and two cousins (Rene and Roberto Hernandez) who were walking along a bridge overlooking the Salinas River in Greenfield, CA.

Fortunately, Rene has only suffered minor injuries, however; Julian has not been found and Roberto remains in critical condition.

Our family is currently working with local authorities, family, and friends searching for any signs of Julian in the river. We are also spending our days at the hospital visiting Roberto and praying for his recovery.

Julian, Rene and Roberto have touched the lives of so many people with their positive outlook on life. While we anxiously await for miracles, it is with great humility that we ask for your financial assistance to equally help the victims involved in this tragic accident.

We ask for your prayers during this unsettling time. Thank you for your support, and together we can bring Julian and Roberto home.

In order to withdraw funds and keep the campaign going, GoFundMe is asking that I share the following:

1) who will be withdrawing the funds?
As Julian's nephew and cousin to both Rene & Roberto, I will be withdrawing the funds in my own name (Aaron Suarez-Lopez) at a later date. Once funds have been withdrawn from the account I will immediately update you all.

2) How will I distribute the funds to the beneficiaries?
The funds will be distributed equally between all 3 victims involved via cashier check.

Feel free to contact me directly with questions.

Please help us bring Julian home. A volunteer search team from out of state will be in the area the help the family. We would like to gather as many people as possible to help with the search. Please meet at 8am on Saturday, April 1st at the Elm Avenue bridge near Metz road in Greenfield. Volunteers will be broken up into teams of 3-4 to search designated areas. If you can volunteer, please comment below so the family can get a head count. Feel free to ask any questions in the comments, and please SHARE this post to help spread the word. I am praying for you and your family Julian. I am deeply sadden by this news. I went to CSUMB and had a couple of classes with Julian. He was a humble person and very kind, always had good things to say and he kept a positive attitude. I will miss you homie. I hope that your family is reminded of the happy times you had. Nothing one can say will ever help ease that pain of losing a loved one. You were a great friend, my prayers go out to your family.

I was so lucky to have Julian in my classes at CSUMB College of Business. He was a dedicated learner and a joy to work with. My best wishes and prayers to his family. He is missed at CSUMB.
