Grazing land for our cows

£40,095 of £100,000 goal

My lovely girls need your help!

Last year's crowdfund we ran as you may know, even with the terrific support it received, didn't quite get over the line. The farm we were hoping to buy fell through. However, we are still desperate to replace the land we are losing to housing, and quite amazingly, grazing land on the Pevesey Levels next door to us has come onto the market. The guide price is £350,000 and whatever we can crowdfund towards it will help massively in our attempt to try and buy it. So here we go again! The map shows in red the land that we are losing. with the remaining part of Longleys Farm in green. The land that has come onto the market is known as 'The Fosters' and is shown as blue. You can see it would be perfect to help replace the land we are losing, especially as the access to it is through our land.

If we can buy The Fosters fields, it will mean that we can continue farming and keep all our cows, and continue to supply all our customers with their raw milk, cream, butter and yoghurt. If we fail to replace the grazing fields shown in red, then we will have to keep about 40 fewer cows, our milk production will be nearly halved, which not only means we won't be able to supply all our current customers, it really questions the viability of our raw milk farm! So anything that you can give to help us to buy the land would be fantastic. To say a big thankyou to you for supporting our campaign  and helping save our farm and cows, you will be invited to our crowdfunders day on the farm, with tractor and trailer rides and BBQ in our fields on the beautiful Pevensey Levels, and see our cows grazing the land that you helped to buy!

Thankyou for all your support so far. Just to let you know a documentary called 'A Year on the Farm' on More 4 will be on tonight (23rd August) at 9pm, and it will be an hour long documentary all about our farm. The Moo Man was filmed in 2012, so the documentary tonight is a great follow up! Best, Steve
Don't miss More4 at 9pm tonight!

The crowdfunding is going well, currently just under £15,000 of the £100,000 target. A big thankyou to those of you who have supported our campaign already.
The money we are raising will help us to buy 70 acres of marshland on the Pevensey Levels that has come up for sale adjacent to us. We badly need to try to buy this as it will largely replace the 70 acres of land that we rent (it is not our own land) that we are losing to development. We are in a sticky situation, and any support that you can give to our campaign will be fantastic!
We have over 5000 customers. Any support that you can give will make such a difference and will hopefully raise enough to secure the future for our cows and our award winning farm, and your raw milk!
Thank you all so much,

Phil and Steve
