It is with great regret to inform everyone that Grant’s cancer has returned. The plan right now is bone marrow biopsy, LP, and central line today. He will be starting chemo on Thursday. Then Grant will need a bone marrow transplant which he didn’t need last time. This means he will have to be isolated in the hospital for at least a month. If anyone wants to be tested to see if you are a bone marrow match we will be posting information soon. Lori and Phil will again be out of work for an undetermined amount of time. We are asking for everyones support. Any help is very much appreciated. And please send positive energy and prayers. #Grantstrong

On April 14th my sister and brother-in-law's, Lori and Phil Mederios, lives changed forever. Instead of getting ready for their son's 2nd birthday party which was suppose to be the next day, they were instead being transferred to Mass. General Hospital with Grant. Earlier that day, Grant's father, Phil, noticed his left eye was bulging. They decided to bring Grant to the local hospital where he received a CT scan. The scan showed a mass growing off the bone behind his eye. Once they were at Mass. General, Grant received more tests where the doctors discovered lesions on several areas of his body. After two weeks of biopsies he was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. They have a long road ahead of them. My sister is actually pregnant with their second child who is due in August. She is now using all her time, working as an ER nurse, that she saved for maternity leave, for the much needed time with Grant. Grant will be having at least six months of intense chemotherapy. Lori and Phil are the first to offer help and now it's time to help them. Any donations, no matter how small, would help them through this difficult time. Their entire extended family thanks you in advance!
