Grandma Told Me So Eatery LLC is a one hundred fifty seat three thousand square feet cozy dining restaurant with a ten seat service bar area with a stage for live entertainment, video gaming area, carryout, catering, delivery and retail products such as sauces and rubs. The Eatery will have a modern vintage southern feel to its décor. We look to serve our community with a focus on entertainment such as spoken word and live music with our partner Natural Muse Agency. Our management teams experience is in Culinary, Restaurant Management, Public Relations, Marketing, Finance, and the Arts with over 20
My Story.. As a child I was raised around good food and faith in God that he would provide as long as I followed what was inate in my heart to do good.
Traveling down south as a child in an RV every year to visit great aunts and there farm to watch them grow and raise cattle and also slaughter animals. It instilled a curiosity for food even then. I have always been attracted to food working in restaurants my whole life in the front of the house.

Running away from my life in Detroit trying to discover what being a man was. What my purpose and passion was. I move to New York City 2005. While there I had a moment of clarity; my life flashed before my eyes while standing in a friends kitchen preparing food as I have always done most of my life. I didnt no until that moment that I loved cooking. In that moment I saw when I fell in love with food and remembered that I was my grandmothers helper as she was the best cook in our church. I had been cooking food and changing family recipes my whole life.
I went to culinary school for a short time. Immediately started my own catering company in NY Comfort Zone Cookng Service. 10 years I trained in the culinary field back of the house in kitchens for a total of 20 years working in restaurants. I know i look young lol but I got a few years on me.. This is where the dream of owning my own restaurant came to fruition. Wanting to be back with my family; I am now home Detroit; to open Grandma Told Me So Eatery after the joy of food was instilled in me by my grandmother.
