Graham's Paraplegic Powerchair

€260 of €1,250 goal

Hi, I am Graham. I am paraplegic. This is my Electric rehab. Powerchair, which Ines and me bought, so that I can get out of the house to take our dog to Doggie Beach + go into the countryside and have a little independence. This chair has gone out of control 4 times. twice it has skidded on steep hills and I have tipped upside down in a ditch with a 125 lb/ 80 kg powerchair pinning me down. Twice it has flipped over backwards going up kerbs or steep hills putting a tremendous force on my neck. I have been very lucky not to have incurred serious injuries, as a result of these inadequacies in the design of the vehicle and me trying to go to places that a normal powerchair is not capable of.
I am a retired car designer, but I had to retire when I was 50 following massive spinal surgery that left me paraplegic and in pain 24/7. Because of my sudden retirement I have only a small pension. My wonderful wife Ines, gave up her job to care for me full time and here in Spain receives zero benefits from the govt.
I am raising money to have a far safer mobility vehicle built combining the seat from this powerchair with the lower part of an electric golf buggy. The golf buggy is designed to move safely on challenging terrain and will not tip over like my powerchair.
We have sponsored 2 girls in Nepal for many years and now find ourselves in a position where we need to ask for help ourselves.
Please give whatever you can afford to help me build a safe mobility vehicle that will enable me to get out of the house and enjoy the Beach and the countryside with my dog. I have just been through a period, where I was not able to go out of my house for 5 months. So to have this vehicle built, would be a dream come true for both me and my wife Ines.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my appeal and give whatever you can afford to help me to be mobile once again. Thank you so much.

Hi I am graham bullock Alias Mentor. I am #paraplegic and the team on Instagram @DesignModelPro are designing and building a prototype #EV #ATV to enable me to go out independently to the mountains and the beach with my dog. I have spent all my spare cash on this project and many of you have very generously sent in donations. This money has now been used up and I have had to lay off my engineer Andy. I now need to collect 1K GBP to complete the steering, lights, wiring loom and dash board. Please send in what you can afford 1 - 10 GBP is fine. I appreciate very much the help you are giving. sincerely , graham, bullock
Project report: We have combined a single seater golf buggy with the recumbent seat from a rehab wheel chair and made many engineering modifications to make it all work. The prototype has been tested by me both on and off road and has completed 30% climbs. We are very happy with it. We still need money for: lights and wiring loom, dash board, mods to steering column and mods to the king pin brackets and bushes.
