GRACIE'S STORY
Gracie is a service dog that was going to be placed with a disabled service man, as a gift, (They have already paid for the dog by putting their lives on the line for us and our freedoms.) She ran away from the groomer because I failed to tell them she was trained to open doors.
So many people looked for her for 3 day but at 9:30 pm Monday night she was hit by a car and a good samaritian took her to the veterinarian hospital. As soon as she is back on her feet she will continue her training and go to a service person. MY STORY
My name is Dorene and I train service dogs and present them as a gift to active or retired military persons needing a service dog. I do not raise funds because the cost of food and equipment is minimal. I love the work I do with the dogs and for our military.
COST
The cost at this time is $5,000.00. Good news, no broken bones, no internal bleeding but it took a lot to stabilize her. She had chest tubes put in for the air around her lungs. They had to put a number of stitches in her head. Her condition as of today is still guarded/critical.
She will be in the hospital for 3 days minimal. We will update you on the cost.
ANY MONEY raised above what I need for Gracie's medical bills will go to another animal needing surgery or care. There are other people monitoring where the money goes.
