A little bit about 'Tiny' and his/her parents:

'Tiny' Robertson is due April 29, 2016 to his/her expectant parents, Katelynn and David Robertson from Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Over the course of the pregnancy, Katelynn and David have learned that Tiny has a diagnosis of Down Syndrome, several congenital heart defects (AVSD, DORV, pulmonary stenosis), as well as an intestinal issue known as duodenal atresia. Both Tiny's heart and small intestine will be requiring surgery in the first few days to weeks of life, and further heart surgeries will likely follow in the months to come. Because the pediatric cardiologist surgeons are only located in Edmonton, the Robertson family has had to relocate to Alberta's capital city at 37 weeks gestation in preparation for delivery.

Katelynn will be delivering Tiny in the next few weeks, after which baby will be transferred to the Stollery Children's Hospital for assessment and placement within the NICU. The team of doctors at the Stollery will then decide for sure on the course of action for the surgeries Tiny needs. The Robertson's have been told they can anticipate having Tiny in the NICU for approximately 3-6 weeks after delivery, depending on how things go.

Katelynn & David are currently staying with family in Sherwood Park until baby is born, after which they have been referred to the Ronald McDonald House for the duration of Tiny's stay in the NICU.

Katelynn and David are SO excited to welcome their special little one into the world and feel so blessed that God has picked them to be Tiny's parents! They are grateful for all of the support they have received so far from their family, friends, and church, and appreciate every contribution that is sent their way!

THANK YOU so much!!

Due to their incomes being reduced as a result of their move and Tiny's stay in the NICU, there will be a need for financial assistance for daily needs and expenses.  Some information on what is needed for David, Katelynn and Tiny:

- $84/week at the Ronald MacDonald house

- $71/month parking pass

- General funding for expenses such as gas, insurance, groceries and post partum needs for Mama

-Funds to access resources specific to Down Syndrome and how they can best support their little one will be helpful for the months ahead

- While they will be spending most of their time in the NICU with Tiny, they will be doing their best to avoid dinners out, but, granted the nature of their situation at times this cannot be avoided. Having money to grab snacks or a quick meal throughout the day to keep their energy up would be greatly appreciated!

**Any funds that come in over and above what is needed immediately would go towards future therapeutic interventions for Tiny. For example, speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, special education, etc.**

Every little thing counts; even if you are unable to contribute financially, please take a moment to pray for the Robertson family.

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for this little one who is about to enter into our world and take his or her first breaths. Thank you that you have protected and strengthened Tiny this far, against all odds. I ask that you would please grant Tiny and Katelynn a safe and smooth delivery, with as little need for intervention as possible. Please continue to provide caring medical staff for Tiny as he or she undergoes medical tests and treatments in the hours, days, and weeks following delivery. May the interventions needed be minimal, and the procedures taken be seamless and beneficial. Please protect Katelynn and David both mentally and emotionally, granting them rest when they are weary and strength when they are weak. May the healing power of your Holy Spirit continue to rest upon this baby, and sustain Katelynn and David in all that is to come.
May your name be glorified by the joy contained in Tiny's face, and in the testimony of this family. Above all, Lord, may your will be done.

In Jesus' name, Amen.
