Goshen Park District

Time is running out...for Goshen’s Kathryn Stagge-Marr Community Park!  Goshen Park District, supported by the Friends of the Goshen Park District, is in urgent need of public funds to meet a deadline imposed by Clermont County to have permanent restroom facilities installed in the park.  Failure to meet the newly extended May, 2017 deadline will result in the mandated closure of the picnic shelter/rental facility donated by the Goshen Lions Club.  Restroom facilities are essential for visitors who come to enjoy the playground, 18-hole disc golf course, outdoor classroom, nature programs, picnic facilities, hiking trails, and designated horseback riding trails in our gorgeous 82-acre park.

You have the power to help us ensure that our park’s amenities remain open and available for the enjoyment of Goshen’s residents and visitors! We have set a fundraising goal of $65,000.  This amount would allow for the installation of a mound-type septic system and a restroom building with separate facilities for both men and women.  Recently, Goshen Park District, which receives no funding from the Township, and operates solely on donations, attempted to put a 0.5 mil levy on the ballot in Goshen Township in support of the park’s development goals.  Unfortunately, that proposal was rejected by a vote of the Township Trustees.  Passage of this ballot issue could have generated $127,000 annually for the park and would have allowed us to meet our #1 development goal of installing restroom facilities.  The levy proposal would have cost the owner of a $100,000 home $17.50 per year and the owner of a $200,000 home $35.00 per year.  Because the levy is no longer an option, we ask that you strongly consider a donation in the amount you would have paid, if taxed.  Obviously, larger donations help us meet our goal even faster, but the Park District would be thrilled to receive any amount, as we recognize that every little bit helps!

All donations to Goshen Park District are considered charitable for tax purposes.  The amount of money raised will determine the structure and type of restroom facility that can be installed.  If there is leftover money, it will be used by Goshen Park District to further develop and maintain our facilities for public enjoyment.

Thank you in advance for graciously supporting Goshen Park District!  Remember, the clock is ticking as the May 2017 deadline for project completion grows ever nearer...
