Hello family! (all personal, professional, and platonic)
My name is Reanna Cruz, and as most of you know, I am a junior in USC School of Cinematic Arts's Film & Television Production BFA Program. This upcoming semester, I will be taking the class equivalent to my “junior thesis” - in which I will be directing, along with having written, my most intricate short film yet.
The film, entitled "Golden Angel", is a project that relies heavily on the emotive experience, as it is a semi-surreal look at personal and emotive growth over a period of time, following the main character's loss of a close friend. This is my most personal short film to date, and because of that it’s one that I need to do right.
This is the second legitimate short film that I've ever directed, and the first that has an actual budget. Unfortunately, as a first-generation college student, financing this film is going to be incredibly difficult. This is where you all come in:
The budget for this project is 1250$, and any money that you pledge will be going strictly to production costs - namely production design, locations, craft services, etc. - which are all important, and anything left over from production will be attributed to (hopefully) film festival submission fees. Any contribution will be extremely appreciated, and would help me out more than words could say!
Film, for me, has been an uphill battle in regards to financing my own projects. I don’t like asking people to do things like this for me, but I shoot in three weeks from posting, and I wouldn’t be asking if it wasn’t urgent. This opportunity is one of the only chances I've had thus far to achieve my exact vision in the capacity that I know I can attain; your help will be absolutely tremendous in helping me get there.
